Jay Raphaelson
President

photoJay Raphaelson, co-founder of EnergyWatch, is a utility rate specialist with over 30 years in the energy services industry. He assists clients in the purchasing of electricity and has successfully capitalized on expense reductions through deregulation and the facilitation of various energy purchasing incentives. EnergyWatch is responsible for the purchase of over 400 megawatts of electricity for its clients - the largest aggregation in New York City. Additionally, EnergyWatch facilitated the enrollment of 50 megawatts in the ISO Curtailable Power Program.

For owners of multi-tenanted properties, Mr. Raphaelson has developed a unique "Utility P&L" that allows landlords to recognize utility income deficiencies. He has significantly increased utility related income for his clients by evaluating and restructuring tenant metering and billing procedures. He currently represents over 90 million square feet of property in New York City.

Prior to founding EnergyWatch, Mr. Raphaelson was the Managing Director of Insignia/ESG Energy Services, the firms' in-house energy management consulting group. Additionally, Mr. Raphaelson formed and was President of a prominent utility rate consulting and submetering firm in New York City for 17 years. He co-developed the Utilitract, the first widely used remotely read electric submetering system. Developed in the mid-1980s, some of these systems are still being utilized today.
