Performing a carbon count is an essential part of evaluating the environmental impact of any building or organization's energy consumption. We start by collecting all of your energy invoices (electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, diesel fuel, etc) and cataloging the usage and billing information across your entire portfolio. We then convert your entire consumption into its BTU or KWH equivalent and process our findings using EPA's precise carbon measurement tools to assess your total direct carbon emissions.
While the methodology described above is great for backward-looking analysis, projecting a portfolio’s carbon impact takes a more personal touch. We contact all the property managers in your portfolio to determine future occupancy projections, technological changes, construction, and any other changes at the properties that will influence future energy consumption. We then convert this real world data into precise projections of future energy use.
